and I have always opposed it. I consider that I done more than any other man to assemble them together & more than in the first place and am now willing to take hold and help move the balance of them when the little Frenchman (Gowine) went west he would not let me know any thing of his going for fear I would write to the agent west. I am told that he made this remark before he left.
