Sir

Feeling a deep interest in the fate of the few reamining Potawatomy Indians remaining in this state--Beleaving that it would benefit their condition to remove them to their tribe west, Knowing the influence Alexis Coquillard Esq always had with those people and formerly [family, formally?] convinced he would treat them with kindness, I take the liberty to suggest to you (should you deem it adviseable to have the few reamining Potawatomies still within the bounds of Indiana remained) The employment of Mr Coquillard I feel assured no [illeg, man?] would be more likely to carry out satisfactoraly your wishes or [illeg] as much satisfaction to the Indians whom I feel asured he would treaty kindly. His appointment to that trust would also be gratifying to many of the citizens who know him.

Very respectfully your obt servant
