Independence Missouri November 11nd 1846. Siv. I have the honour to enclose herewith a list of Miami Indians delivered over to [illegible] A.J. Vaughan sub agent, with the statement of Wallace B. White in relation to the [illegible] of the Indians on their [illegible], and the statement of Jo J. compared of the Mannes in which the Poneys belonging to the emigrating Miamis were cared for during the trip. [illegible] [illegible] for me to state that in getting the poneys standed in the [illegible] some of them escaped, the Indians think the number was nineteen. Whatever the number may be I presume they will easily be found. It will be seen that the number of Indians on the list as certified to by Cal Vaughan, exceeds by eight the number repeated by me as faming the emigrating [illegible], and that as there occured seven deaths ceed two births during the emi- gration, it appears that thirteen Indians had got on board the canal boats of [illegible]
