Sir, I have the honour to inform you that I reached this place yesterday with the Miamis. We found the Ohio River very low, and it was with great difficulty that the Steam Boat was got over the same base that are found between Louisville and its [illegible] with the Mississippi. The Contractors for the emigration find it very difficult to procure a Steam Boat to make the trip to [illegible]. They will make an effort to engage one during the day at some price. Should they be unsuccessful the trip will be made from this period by Land. There has [illegible] death occurred since I wrote to you on the 14th. the first an infant on the 18th. and the other an aged Indian who had fever a long time died on the 20th. Every attention has been paid to them by the Physicians and the Contractors gave them dicent burials affording the Indians an [illegible] of performing their funeral ceremony.
