I write by director of our board to ask whether it be clearly understood that on the receipt of evidences of the arrival of said Indians at their place of destination & of the accounts of the Contractors for their  services and the expenses of removal said Indians, the  account of the [illegible] of the Sec of War for $6000 held by the Bank, will then be paid. This is deemed the more necessary as it is stated that the Contract was assigned to other[?] T. M. Dowling, who drew  the draft for  $6000, & is important  to [us to know?] whether the authority to pay the amount of the draft out of the proceed of the contract, was contained in such assignment.
