We want all our business as a nation settled before we divide. When is it settled everything will go off smooth - we will be ready + willing to emigrate. Although we "do not like" the country to which our great father is about sending us. We do not think it is that "good country" which was promised us while we had plenty of land which our great father wanted to buy. Mr Coquillard is angry with us because we wish not to go to his camp to council, + will not attend our council. We have always situated our own council grounds. We have done so now. [illegible] the anger evinced by him because we have exercised this the priviledge [bade?] us any good while under his charge emigrating? <br> We repeat let us have our business as one people settled & we will move; until then we do not wish to." <br><br> The above is a faithful transcript of what the Indians told me was their "talk" to the agent.
