Sir,
Since [illegible] with you. I have [illegible] a letter from the west in which is is stated, in speaking of the approaching emigration of the Miamis, that Col. I know that you have repeatedly said no force in the emigration of those people, [illegible] fathom the threat [illegible] is can do no good. They are [illegible] as such that, which has even [illegible] been [illegible] twice not [illegible] ... result from the latter. Why is it that they [illegible] treated like dogs? [illegible] of humanity be [illegible] in their behalf? Often having bad [illegible] ... they look for protection? [illegible]
