Captain: Your letter of the 1st instant has been duly submitted, and in reply I have to inform you that the Secretary of War authorizes you to use your discretion in the matter of calling out a mounted company of volunteers at Fort Wayne, Indiana to aid in the removal of the Miami Indians to their new homes West of the Mississippi.
