When called together for counsel on the subject of removal - I <s>some</s> saw some the chiefs the principal chief Lafontaine seemed favorably disposed towards that object, agreeing with me in to the necessity of an early emigration on account of the Indians themselves. The other chiefs with whom I conversed were not so favorable to an early time of departure. None seemed willing to commit themselves, desiring to consult the tribe.
