It is all that I <u>expected</u> when I went up; and should no encouragements be held out for delay, I have no doubt I shall be able to remove the tribe as early as May. This is the opinion of the Agent and I feel every confidence that the expectation will be realized. That will be most pleasant and healthy season of the year and they can be taken without danger or loss of life, and with every precaution for their comfort. They remarked in Council, also, that if the Department refused to extend the time, they could constitute their chief (LaFontaine) as agent to sell their property, and that they would go when their Great Father wished them. This was said <u>informally</u> but it was sufficiently debated to prove the sale of their property will be no impediment to their early emigration. But few - <u>very few</u> - of them have property to sell and it will not retard the emigration a single day. I have nothing more to add except to renew the assurances heretofore given,
