Sir I understand that a small portion of the miamie tribe of Indians will move south of the Missourie River shortly and as I expected that it would be necessary to furnish said Indians with rations for twelve months, I should like to get the contract. Should I not be able to get the contract I should like to get a situation in the removal of them or act as commissary to see that the [illegible] the full benefit of their rations, will you confer a favour ^on me^ by taking this matter into consideration I wish to leave on tomorrow, and will accordingly call and pay my Respects to you previous to my departure.
