by you to oppress us, and it has been with reluctance that I obtained my own consent to make this appeal to you. I only ask that you should take into consideration that the various expences that were to be paid by us were enumerated in the contract and that this salary is not to be found there, and that we could have no more reason from the reading of this contract, to suppose we would be required to pay the inspector of rations than we should be compelled to pay the salary of their Sub Agent. If it should be ordered that this salary is to be paid by us, we shall feel justified in resisting the amount which the Father engages to give the Son.
