Julius Murray of lawful age and a creditable citizen, being duly sworn deposeth and saith,
That about the 18th of October last he proceeded with the Interpreter Joseph Rubedeaux, as stated in the deposition of Elias Murray, to assembel and bring in the Eel River and Waw wa-assee Indians and met Simon Edsall at Columbia on Blue River with two Horse Teams, to remove their Baggage; that deponent passed the village of Ko-a ssee on Eel River and was there informed by Tattaw and other Indians that the Waw wa assee band had agreed to assemble at their village, and that some of them had come in, but that afterwards they had determined not to emigrate, and had fled north in the direction of the State of Michigan.
That this deponent proceeded to Blue River, and at Columbia had the above information corroborated and was fully satisfied that said Indians had fled and would not Emigrate, and thereupon returned with the Teams to Ko-assee's village, and brought in all the Indians there except Koassee's wife, and ^her sister who refused to accompany them until they heard from the Chief Koassee then at Peru; deponent would have proceeded further up Blue River, but was satisfied beyond a doubt, that all of said Waw-we-assee band had fled as before stated and would not Emigrate--And further this deponent saith not.
