Emigration Miami
E13.
Ft Wayne, Apl 26 1847
In relation to details of Miami emigration & to the cause of the contractors; mentions that some 30 have returned &c. that Lafontaine is dead &c. with sundry affeds & statements in relation to the late emigration.
[This appears to be the end of the letter spilling onto the back of the last page]
The five Chiefs Koassee, Mezequah Revarre & White Loon have returnedwith others, and now that Lafontaine is deadwe hope they will persuade Meshingomesha & Brothers & all authorised to state by treaty, to sell all their remaining land to the Gov't &join their brethren in the West. The state will then be rid of them and of their whole annuity being paid West, will draw & keep them all there. This would be very satisfying to the people of Inda.
With much respect,
Your ob't and humble sevt
